Candidates being briefed by returning officer Sue Martin about a recount that’s taking place following Shay Brennan’s request for a review of the 7th count. His team said he got more votes than 102 allocated to him
RECOUNT: FF Shay Brennan has asked for a recount after the results of Count 7 were announced, when he received 102 transfers from Liam Coughlan. The Brennan camp said their tallies indicated he got 398 votes. Returning officer Sue Martin said a recount will happen after lunch
Count 3. No candidate reached quota. Siobha Ni Aonghusa (PBP-SOL) eliminated. Her votes (1351) will now be distributed tomorrow. Counting for tonight has now finished and will resume from 10 am Sunday.
Second count finished here in Dublin Rathdown, no one was elected but bottom three candidates Garrett McCafferty (NP), Kevin Daly (IND) and Conor Murphy (IND) will all be eliminated
Mr Richmond said he was pleased to see the exit poll last night and believes that Fine Gael will return more TDs to the 34th Dáil than they did in the 33rd.
Speaking to reporters after it was announced that Neale Richmond had retained his seat he said he was "chuffed"
