Today, I voted in favor of the continuing services budget because it provides crucial funding needed to eradicate the spruce budworm before an outbreak. By mitigating the budworm’s impact, we save our forests and thousands of jobs in our heritage industries.
HAPPENING NOW: Call Senate Republicans before today's final vote on the emergency supplemental budget. We need them to change their minds and look out for the third of Maine people who rely on MaineCare.

People like John, Jess, and Jan Hansen matter. Let anyone who relies on MaineCare services—and their loved ones—know that they should reach out to Senate Republicans before today's final vote on the emergency supplemental budget. #mepolitics
On Wednesday, I was sworn into the Maine Senate, representing District 28, which includes part of Portland and Peaks Island.
I’m incredibly honored and ready to continue the fight for housing, health care, and economic security for all Mainers. Let’s get to work.
Today we honor all who served, including my father, Gerald Talbot, his brother Bob Talbot, and my uncles Leonard and Thomas Cummings. Grateful for their courage and for all veterans’ - and their families - sacrifices. Thank you for your service. #VeteransDay
This week, we celebrated my father, Gerald Talbot, on his 93rd birthday! Seeing Talbot Park support the Bangor YMCA’s mission to expand services, add green space, and bring our community together was the perfect gift. https://t.co/YW9JQTNa78
Today, we honor the Wabanaki Nations – the first stewards of the land that we now call home.
Let us recommit ourselves to healing past wrongdoings and creating a more prosperous future for everyone in Maine.
Investing in child care and in our schools sets our kids up for success – and it gives moms and dads the peace of mind they deserve as they re-enter the workforce.
It also gives educators like Liz the resources they need to lift our national ambitions.
Today, we remember those who lost their lives 23 years ago and honor the brave heroes who selflessly helped save countless lives that morning.
We will never forget.
Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the brave first responders and everyday heroes who showed the strength of our nation in the face of tragedy. As we reflect on the past, we remain united in our commitment to peace, resilience, and hope.
My column in the @PressHerald reflects upon this moment in history and the need to continue building leadership at every level of government – leadership that looks like us, that understands our stories and that is committed to justice and equality. https://t.co/G2ZJsJCaw0
This Labor Day, I’m thinking of all the hard-working folks in our country. From factory workers to farmworkers, caretakers to teachers, service workers to those in the skilled trades—these are the people who keep Maine and America running. 1/3)
But for too long, too many have seen their work undervalued and their wages stagnant.
Let’s honor labor not just in words, but by standing up for policies that protect workers' rights, support unions, and build a fairer, more just economy for everyone. (2/3)
Today, on the 61st anniversary of the March on Washington and with my parents proudly watching, we launched Black Mainers for Harris Walz! We’re creating a space for dialogue, organizing and action. Grateful to everyone who made today a success.
Let’s get to work!
Help ask President Biden to designate the Frances Perkins Homestead as a national monument! Adding your name to their petition will show public support and help provide Frances Perkins with the recognition she earned as a national leader!
