On this day in 1999 (6/4/1999), Mike Keane scores twice to propel the Dallas Stars past the Colorado Avalanche 4-1 in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. Jere Lehtinen also scored, and Ed Belfour stopped 18 of 19 shots.

Whether it was high school journalism days, fielding feedback requests from me as a student or guiding me as an intern, I don't think it's hyperbolic to trace the snowball of my career back to the SportsDay copy desk at The Dallas Morning News lending me their time and wisdom.
Today is the last day for our sports copy desk. It’s a sad day in a nasty business. I hope to see some of our guys soon. I’ll miss them all. Maybe they won’t miss my copy, but I’ll miss them.
