Funny how this works. For three weeks the Swamp gave us nothing. Silence. A hospital, a wheelchair, and a statement so vague it could describe a houseplant.

Then Laura Loomer says the quiet part out loud and suddenly everybody remembers how to use a phone.

Thune's office now claims he "spoke with Sen. McConnell yesterday by phone" and that they had "a lengthy and substantive conversation that covered a variety of topics, including national security."

Funny how a man who allegedly can barely be photographed is suddenly briefed on national security.

CNN's Scott Jennings jumped in too, saying he told McConnell "we want to see him back at work as soon as possible." Convenient timing for a network that spent four years insisting Biden was sharp as a tack.

Even Mike Lee couldn't keep the story straight. Days after Thune bragged McConnell "sounded good," Lee admitted, "Many of us aren't speaking about Mitch McConnell's condition because we know nothing about his condition."

So which is it. A lengthy substantive call about national security, or total darkness. The Swamp wants both stories to be true at once, like a magician working two hands so you don't watch either one too closely.

Kentucky deserves better than a senator's health being managed like a hostage negotiation. If he is fine, prove it. If he is not, be honest with the people paying his salary.

The GOP leadership is not protecting McConnell right now. They are protecting a Senate seat and a succession plan from a Democrat governor. That is the whole ballgame.

America First means honesty first. Even about your own.

Starved In The Dark: Florida Man Arrested After Puppy Dies In Locked Garage

Flagler County, Florida - While the rest of the country celebrated Independence Day, a ten-week-old puppy was losing her life to organ failure caused by total starvation.

The Flagler County Sheriff's Office arrested 18-year-old Chance Jones after a sickening investigation revealed he reportedly locked his Bluetick Coonhound/Australian Shepherd mix in a detached garage at his place on Sunset Boulevard without food, water, or light.

Investigators say Jones admitted to being away for extended periods, only feeding the helpless puppy when he returned every few weeks. Yes, every few weeks. When it became "critical," he reportedly hid her in a locked garage because he didn't want anyone to see what he had done. Investigators say the pup never got veterinary care.

Sheriff Rick Staly called it one of the most heartless things he has seen in his career, stating that Jones chose to hide the animal instead of giving her the basic care that would have kept her alive.

Jones is now facing charges of aggravated animal cruelty and unlawful confinement. He is being held on a $3,000 bond.

We work for the animals who can't speak for themselves, and we are demanding that the "voice for a helpless animal" remains loud until justice is served for this innocent soul. If you can't care for them, don't take them in. Period.
