My final takeaway from this class is that even though the use and evolution of technology are debated upon, technology itself has made & will continue to make a difference in society forever. Thanks to @RUProfMcCormick for an amazing class this semester. #DCIM353b
This course has influenced me to think differently about digitech, society & human behavior and it has motivated me to think about my online use daily. Everything we do online is connected & as users, we must find a balance between our online & offline worlds. #DCIM353b
@bronstein_kasey This is something that is so simple yet so realistic, and unfortunately, it is bound to happen sooner or later with all the companies experimenting with automated services.
@NurhalizaHalim I hope that this occurs as quickly as some of the other technologies that were discussed on Twitter. It would not only help a lot of people but I think it would bolster the business field as well. Great Prediction
@anthony_cele This is a scary yet fascinating development that is silently being perfected underneath all of the things that are going on in the world. It will be cool to see how big corporates like Amazon and other retailers use this new tech
@KadenSavannah This is very interesting that regardless of an offline or online environment, leaders are still at the top of the podium for companies. This also means that leaders will all have the responsibility to maintain the company image online just as they have to in an FTF environment.
@almandale1 With the rise of social media, it has become so much easier for everyone to interact with others. Today, social media serves as the largest platform where users comment about movies, food, or other incidents they've recently experienced. This is both good and bad.
@katherine_prull This is a great effect and impact to understand while using social media. It expands to the notion that your actions online and offline effect not only you but also those around you
I think that the future of technology will show the growth of Artifical Intelligence in the work place as many jobs and opportunities for citizens will be at risk as big business companies are introduced to cheaper & efficient ways of production, design and development. #DCIM353b
This article explains how social media creates a “public space in which we can find common ground with total strangers and our closest friends.” It notes how leaders have to balance & encourage bonds between users in order to achieve goals. #LIDC02Sp19 https://t.co/fHguRsmsvc
For Exam 2 we should know the distinction between hashtag activism & slacktivism. Hashtag activism is connecting via social media to peruse a cause where as slacktivism is the idea that similar actions are performed towards a goal but require little time or involvement #dcim353b
@EtkineErika This is something that I forgot to include in the topics that I’m studying for so thanks for the suggestion! I think this also ties into the idea of activism via various forms of media
@emilygraves123 This is a very important thing that we learned about and something that will definitely show up on the exam, great suggestion and I think it would be useful to know some examples too
@alexmanacop I think this is a really important idea to remember for the exam as it encompasses ideas that we learned for exam 1 as well as the new material discussed afterwards
One piece of advice that I would have for students who communicate via hashtags with other students from different schools would be: don't be afraid to share your beliefs and opinions with those you do not know because there will be someone out there who agrees with you. #TXC19
The biggest takeaway from this #TXC19 activity was the power that social media sites like Twitter can have on bringing people together especially when they are used by students who converse and connect with one another on certain shared beliefs and interests. #DCIM353b
One aspect of my identity that I perform is while I am at work I take part in being a cashier for Home Depot. I assist customers during checkout and answer any questions that they might have while shopping. #DCIM353b
@KaitlynHall326 I think this is a really undervalued and underestimated skill that many of the people our age have gained knowingly or unknowingly, it is something that is beneficial but often looked at as a negative trait
@jdelgado12171 I found this explanation and motivation to travel really interesting, it really connects to the idea of exploring discomfort while creating memories through experience
@DevinZheng6 I am also majoring and minoring in the same things and I can definitively relate to your goal of working in a network as it is a great skill to peruse.
