@RutgersAltRoute A6: I enjoyed watching the video and takeaway that seating arrangement is beneficial for the student in maintaining attentiveness and a tool for behavior intervention. Also have tangible items for the students. #altrted#sped
@ELAWithMrLuzhak @RutgersAltRoute I completely agree. Providing frequent check ins to make sure they are okay is absolutely a great way to help support that child.
@RutgersAltRoute A3: Teachers must have patience and be able to evaluate the child's needs and their strengths. Making sure to use learning methods for their individualized instruction & providing intervention when needed. #altrted#sped
@RutgersAltRoute A2: Making sure to build a relationship with your student first so that you can instill trust and confidence. Then you can facilitate their participation in class. I like to do a lot of group work so that they can all share as a community. #altrted#sped
@RutgersAltRoute A6: I use rubric. I also like to give feedback one to one rather than just writing it on their paper. I also give them opportunities to go fix their mistakes after our feedback. #AltRtEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute A5: I like to pose a problem and work together as a class to solve it. I want to encourage that working together collaboratively is a useful tool. It helps promote a safe learning environment and leads to diverse learning strategies. #AltRtEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute A4: I try to instill values in my class. I also value peer collaborations. Working towards a goal and instead of saying I can’t do it, what else can we try to solve. #AltRtEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute A2: Teachers can teach students values. They can use diff teaching strategies. For example allowing students to not work independently but collaboratively. #AltRtEd#GrowthMindset
@RutgersAltRoute Sttudents can definitely be influenced by a teacher’s attitude and mindset. We need to cautious of having a fixed mindset bc it hinders our intelligence and abilities. #AltRtEd#GrowthMindset
Do not discount how others describe you. Assess the source, the comments, and the intent. It will either help you learn more about you, or learn a lot about those you give your time to.
