Today, Virginia Democrats are urging voters to approve a state constitutional amendment that would let the General Assembly redraw congressional districts mid-decade—essentially enabling gerrymandering to “restore fairness” in response to what other states (like Texas) have done.

They frame it as necessary retaliation, but it’s really about gaining partisan advantage. Meanwhile, both major parties routinely work to marginalize third parties and independents.
