Good news! Researchers from @smuhalifax, have acquired funding from @FishOceansCAN, to help update the DNA database for critically endangered right whales. This research will unlock vital insights into their reproduction and genetic diversity. https://t.co/fqxaMVfHuV
Did you know? @SMUScience professor Dr. Timothy Frasier is leading a groundbreaking project to update the DNA database of the critically endangered North Atlantic right whale. 🐋🔬🌊 Learn about this important research: https://t.co/pXt7NyWmLh #WorldWithoutLimits
We're excited to share the newest publication by one of our PhD Candidates, Richard Orton, discussing genomic evidence of purging in the North Atlantic right whale https://t.co/7J9STgHHF3
Thanks to @rushdhill for the incredible artwork used to summarize this research!
Another critically endangered North Atlantic right whale has been found suffering from a severe entanglement in what appears to be fishing gear. This male, known oddly as Dropcloth, was found in Canada's Gulf of St. Lawrence, according to Fisheries and Oceans Canada.
Congratulations to one of our PhD candidates @Crossman_C on the publication of this paper! 🎉 We’re excited to be sharing more of the great research happening with the Right Whale Genome Project. @GenomeAtlantic@GenomeCanada @_researchNS @SMUScience
