Mr. Patrick George Zaki moved to Italy to pursue a Masters degree in Women and Gender Studies and was arrested under false accusations in 2020 in Egypt. He has experienced torture, unsafe living conditions, starvation, and numerous disappearances for more than 24 years each.

How would you feel if you were arrested for studying what you were passionate about? This semester the Honors 300 class at RWU will be advocating for Mr. Patrick George Zaki, an Italian student arrested in Egypt in February 2020, who is currently in a renewed pretrial detention.
