I believe ICE has a fundamental duty to enforce our immigration laws, carry out deportations when required, and protect American citizens. While these incidents are tragic, no one should call for abolishing the agency over them. ICE includes many dedicated officers who do their jobs responsibly every day. I hope such events never happen again.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victims Renée Nicole Good, Alex Pretti, and their families, who have suffered unimaginable loss. These tragedies highlight the need for careful, accountable enforcement that protects public safety and maintains trust.

We must support our law enforcement while ensuring full investigations bring transparency and prevent future mistakes.

Trump has every right to enforce federal immigration law at scale.

He campaigned on that and won.

But we are also entitled to government leaders with some amount of credibility.

Not buffoons who dress up in costumes for TV hits and repeatedly lie and spread false information about matters of life and death.

Trump should fire Secretary Kristi Noem. And if he won’t, then Congress should impeach and remove her.

I've slowed this down.

In the huddle, one or more ICE officers shout 'GUN'. This caused another officer to draw his sidearm.

Another officer removed the man's sidearm, and then walked away, but it was discharged negligently (see for yourself).

The Sig P320 is notorious for NDing, but typically only when dropped.

That then triggered the other agents to think that the man on the ground, Alex Pretti, had begun shooting, so they neutralised the perceived threat.

If this is what happened, it's an incredibly unfortunate accident in Minneapolis.

We can support ICE and enforcing immigration laws without agreeing with all their tactics or actions. It's that simple.

@Philrages is correct. Both sides are not innocent from this here. All attempts by both the right and the left to purposely incite unrest must stop ASAP.

Unlike w/ Good, where I believe there was self-defense, Pretti's death is more ambiguous, but on the side of avoidable tragedy. In other words, both sides had missteps that shouldn't have happened.

But there should be an investigation. We can support ICE & common sense.

You have a right to carry PEACEFULLY for protection.

But if you risk violence w/o just cause, law enforcement has the right to respond accordingly.

If Pretti's death was justified is unclear. But the 2A issue is another attempt to divide us that we need to avoid.

Both MAGA and principalists r reacting wrong to the gun issue. It's simple: you're allowed to carry. But you aren't allowed to threaten & resist w/o actual cause.

Not to justify or blame Pretti(more'll be revealed), but the 2A issue's a misstep that'll only harm us, not help us.

Homan prioritized what's right. Noem has prioritized spectacle & missteps everywhere. If Trump wants to regain the narrative, she must go.

A lot of what is happening now is Kristi Noem marginalized Tom Homan and the head of Border Patrol because those two prioritized deportations of criminals and gang members. Noem and Corey Lewandowski wanted broad, public round-ups without prioritizing the illegal aliens. They have bypassed Homan and the head of Border Patrol and elevated Greg Bovino because they want the public confrontations and displays. And that's not the progressive press reporting this. Today's question isn't just if there was a threat, but if ICE had reasonable assumption that there was & acted correctly.

I don't see proof either way rn. As such, I don't think it's fair for us to judge 100% rn. I'm holding off on saying any more abt this w/o more evidence.

@EricLDaugh This is simply dangerous from Walz. There's nothing that proves either side & would say that ICE was wrong or right. But Walz wants to talk about "federal agents being wrong". If Walz wants to know part of why his state is seeing riots and chaos, he should look in the mirror.
