If you truly value the Aam Aadmi, as your party’s name suggests, and consider yourself an Aam Aadmi, then take the resignation of your minister @HarpalCheemaMLA . An FIR against him will be registered anyway. You and your government are responsible for Gulzar Singh’s death, and Congress will ensure justice for Gulzar Singh.

It is remarkably convenient to blame everyone in one breath to conceal the failures of the AAP government in Punjab.

The facts tell a different story. Punjab has not only struggled with drug consumption; it has also topped the country in drug-smuggling cases under the AAP regime.

According to NCRB’s 2023 data, Punjab recorded the highest rate of drug-smuggling cases in the country at 25.3 cases per lakh population, compared with 12.4 cases per lakh for drug-use cases.

So instead of pointing fingers in every direction to absolve himself, Arvind Kejriwal must explain why the AAP government’s much-publicised “war on drugs” has failed to deliver meaningful results.

This is beginning to sound suspiciously like Amit Shah’s “War on Drugs” - big announcements, grandstanding and very little to show for it.

So, is there a tacit understanding between the AAP and the BJP?

पंजाब में नशे का बढ़ता कहर बेहद गंभीर चिंता का विषय है।

लेकिन उससे भी अधिक चिंताजनक यह है कि नशे के खिलाफ सवाल उठाने वाले गुलजार सिंह जी ने इस पर जब वित्त मंत्री से सवाल पूछा तो उन्हें डराया-धमकाया गया। प्रताड़ित करने की सीमा इतनी बढ़ गई कि उन्होंने जहर खा लिया और इलाज के दौरान दम तोड़ दिया।

नशे के मुद्दे पर सवाल पूछना क्या गलत है?

वित्त मंत्री को इस्तीफा देना चाहिए और इन गंभीर आरोपों की जांच होनी चाहिए। गुलजार सिंह जी के परिवार को न्याय मिलना चाहिए।

And it’s hard not to remember Hathras, where the BJP government took control of a Dalit woman’s final rites and cremated her under the cover of darkness.
