A layman digest of our recent paper “Integrating extensive functional annotations and multiomics of cattle enhances climate resilience prediction and mapping” https://t.co/zl4EZVbPiR
Here we propose a new framework called “Functional-And-Evolutionary Multi-trait Importance (FAEMI) score”. Developed using a Bayesian method, we collected and analyzed annotation and omics data across multiple consortia, converting more than 2.3 millions of molecular phenotypes.
Massive multi-omics data are generated to annotate animal genomes. However, how to use these datasets to improve genomic prediction and mapping is not clear. More importantly, how to use these datasets to improve agriculture in the changing climate is not understood.
GSOR is validated by applying it to milk lipid traits in cattle, led by Ghoreishifar et al, and they identify potentially causal genes and pathways linked to milk composition: https://t.co/qeCGfaHI35

Estimated Breeding Value(EBV) or Polygenic Score(PGS) cal using genome-wide SNPs. We propose calculate EBV or PGS near genes - cis or local EBV/PGS to assoc with assayed gene expression to prioritise genes and tissues: Genetic score omics regression (GSOR)https://t.co/CJBMNJrrBs

We collaborated on analysing MRI imaging data from the UK Biobank, found that visceral adipose tissue (abdominal fat) has stronger links to venous thromboembolism (blood clot) than BMI. Publication: https://t.co/gFVDVbZoBV

Complex trait analyses usually focus on trait means. We analysed trait variances in human blood cell phenotypes, yielding new biological/clinical insights: trait variation strongly negatively selected, impact polygenic score accuracy and highlights the effect of alcohol on health
