छात्रों का कहना है कि उनका आंदोलन भर्ती और परीक्षा व्यवस्था की समस्याओं को लेकर था, लेकिन साक्षी जोशी कथित तौर पर मुद्दे को राजनीतिक रंग दे रही थीं। रिपोर्टिंग को मोदी-विरोध की तरफ मोड़ा जा रहा था।

जब छात्रों ने उनकी रिपोर्टिंग पर सवाल उठाए, तो बहस के दौरान उन्हें “शराबी” कह देना पत्रकारिता की मर्यादा के खिलाफ नजर आता है। बिना किसी मेडिकल प्रमाण के आंदोलनकारी छात्र पर ऐसा व्यक्तिगत आरोप लगाना उचित नहीं है। माइक ऑफ ना करने की बात भी छात्र ने ही कही!

छात्र ने खुली चुनौती दी, “मेडिकल करा लो, पता चल जाएगा शराब पी है या नहीं।”

छात्रों के सवालों का जवाब तथ्यों से दिया जाना चाहिए था, व्यक्तिगत टिप्पणी से नहीं।
इस पूरे विवाद में छात्रों की आपत्ति जायज़ दिखती है और पत्रकार के व्यवहार पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े होते हैं।
