The peak days are here!🤩
With already >330K Honey Buzzards counted, we are getting closer and closer to the final big days of HB migration. While the harriers seem to be somewhat later again, their numbers also keep building up...👀

We have been marking painted turtles near @CedarPointBio since 2005 and our first paper just dropped. Drought impacts on growth and sex ratio. Undergraduate honors theses led to manuscript. Props to the wonderful ranch family who let us trap in their land.

My clip of Plain-backed Sparrows (นกกระจอกตาล) and House Sparrows (นกกระจอกใหญ่) competing for #nest cavity. The former is endemic to the mainland Southeast #Asia & has been declining. The latter has undergone a rapid range expansion here.

Downy Woodpecker is one of the most widespread and the smallest #woodpecker in North America. I first located this individual by voice, but I have no idea what the species is. Thanks #Merlin for helping me solve the mystery. The app works amazingly well
