I'm developing our urbanisation/ settlement SOW in year 7, wanting to include more sense of place, sustainable cities/ development etc. Would anyone mind sharing any resources or ideas for inspiration please 😊🌎 #geography#geographyteacher
@RGS_IBGschools Here are some of mine currently- (The large Geography display and the Think, Write, Speak are inspired by @missgeog92 past displays!) I’ve also got a command word display and a student pledge wall too!
@fiona_616 That would be brilliant thankyou so much! I'm really excited to teach it and think the students will love it, though coasts would be easier as they've done lots on that through lower school.
A-Level planning shoutout for #geographyteacher
I'm teaching AQA Hot Deserts for the first time to my Y13 class and was wondering if anybody had anything they'd be willing to share?
Advice/ resources/ websites / articles , anything would be a huuuge help😊 TIA
Working on literacy and oracy as a school focus, I've adapted @MrHand__ 's guided reading strategy (this was for a Y12 lesson) to focus on the @EducEndowFoundn suggestions. Hoping this helps to create more independent readers and embeds deeper level literacy skills! #geography
@PickenGeog I've done exactly the same! I've also given them separate homework's to the others in the earlier stages and used this kind of format sheet but asked them to use the word in a sentence.
@samjdvs You can buy label paper from Amazon, and print feedback straight onto that if you use the bypass tray! Plus then you can print anything you need !! Only £8.99 x
@propermenshevik @jwalms93 (3), scaffold etc for students but then stop this for trainee teachers? They should have something to work with/ from, whilst having the expectation of adapting/ creating more as they progress. Having access to resources is a huge help to teachers at all stages of the profession.
@propermenshevik @jwalms93 (2) have jobs alongside their training, have large assignments to complete and may still have lectures or meetings. So whilst most timetables are less than that of a full time teacher, planning everything from scratch is usually not feasible. Why do we model/ worked examples,
Has any Geography teacher made / taught a lesson on the recent Turkey earthquakes? Designing & teaching a tectonics unit for year 7, they’ve all been so interested and inquisitive and I wanted to include this as a case study lesson on this! #Geography#geographyteacher
