@UninGuest @_bkuh_ I’d guess it’s because a home run gives you a a run and an RBI so he was trying to not give double credit for them

The clip comes off as Ferris just being pissed he couldn’t get the bonuses on Marner’s ELC and then using that to convince Marner that the Leafs didn’t respect him.

[PuckPedia @PuckPedia]

“He was never protected by his organization.”

Darren Ferris on Mitch Marner’s tenure with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Starting all the way with no performance bonuses in his entry-level contract, to how he became the playoff scapegoat.

In the 20 years since the NHL implemented a salary cap there have been 12 unique Cup champions, in the same time frame there have been 12 unique World Series champions. Right now the NHL has its own version of the Dodgers with the Panthers. The cap made no difference on parity

[Jim Bowden⚾️ @JimBowdenGM]

One of the reasons #MLB is pushing for a salary cap was best articulated by a quote this week by LeBron James @KingJames when referring to the #NBA "There's been eight straight years of different champions," James said. "So everyone feels coming into the season, thinking, 'This could be our year.' Every fanbase feels like this could be our year as well." #MLB wants this

[Ryan Pickle @R_Pickle]

In 2024 we got LaD, P3R, and FFVII Rebirth in that order in the first part of the year and in 2027 we get Stranger Than Heaven, Persona 4 Revival, & FFVII Revelation in the same order early in the year.

[Ryan Pickle @R_Pickle]

@AndrewStoeten Eric Hinske was worse. 4.8 fWAR in his Rookie of the Year season, only managed 6.2 fWAR over the rest of his career (11 more seasons)

[Ryan Pickle @R_Pickle]

@mattywankenobi @oilerjay @TSNRyanRishaug The Leafs went from a top team to a bottom team in almost every stat pretty much right from the get go under Berube. It was Stolarz standing on his head in 24/25 that kept that from being obvious. So the players may have quit on him but at no point was he doing a good job

[Ryan Pickle @R_Pickle]

@FireWolvesNLL @NLL @GriffsMLax

[Ryan Pickle @R_Pickle]

Yes, by every metric the Leafs got worse under Berube. Also why is this only a Leafs thing of acting like coaches aren’t changed every few years anyways? There’s only 5 coaches that have been with their team longer than 3 years, & 2 of those are only 4 years.

[JayOnSC @JayOnSC]

Was moving on from Craig Berube the right decision for the Leafs?

[Ryan Pickle @R_Pickle]

The best Leafs teams since Sundin came with an inexperienced GM. Then he was replaced with an experienced one who managed to crash the team in 3 seasons.

[Sportsnet 590 The FAN @FAN590]

"It's great if he's great at analytics. That's part of it... But this is the Toronto Maple Leafs... To put an inexperienced person in that job makes me a little nervous."

@DougMaclean joins @RealKyper and @jtbourne to weigh in on Sunny Mehta's potential fit as Leafs GM.

I don’t dislike this at all but at the same time the Jays were already pretty good at hitting RHP among OFers, but lack anyone that can mash LHP. Schneider was the only one with a wRC+ over 100 against LHP among them.

[Toronto Blue Jays @BlueJays]
