Have just spoke with some senior officials from the IGTC, who have described Max Verstappen's double-stint as "nothing less than a masterclass".

The overtaking of six cars during the stint was an "incredible display", and the feeling is that he is proving his generational talent in a category that rewards driver talent.

The pass around the outside was apparently met with absolute disbelief by several senior figures.
