I’m thinking, Disney movies are left leaning. Finding joy in little things alone sounds so right, so virtuous, but that’s what creates so many bums, who look for hand out from government. Losing oneself in a profession is right leaning, like Howard Roark in the “Fountainhead”.

There was a discussion on the meaning of life with kids. I said the meaning of life is to lose yourself in something, like the tight rope walker in the “Thus Spoke Zarathustra”. The kids said it is find joy in the little things of life as in the movie “Soul”.

Your body is essentially the #harness in #ai terms, which carries context and memory. Sometimes we are able to transfer to another harness, like from Claud Cowork to ChatGPT harness, and that is #reincarnation.

Being curious was over rated by me. Thinking of people who have good intuition, they were not really going through news, YouTube videos on science, googling every question that comes to mind. They were idling more than me; #retardmaxxing.

They don’t teach about finding opportunities, taking risks, discipline, doing hard things, pivoting when conditions change. What reminded me about this was a gas station with almost no cars in the same freeway exit as a Buc-ees with 100+ pumps.

What makes most US #universities #liberal / left leaning: they teach all about the rights and justice, for example how folks have been wronged by businesses. They don’t teach enough about “making” stuff, what it takes to create / sustain a business.

Staying at the Gaylord Texan, on America’s #250 birthday, I realize again the idea of “if you build it, they will come”. It’s the ability to declare bankruptcy if it fails; the funding that comes from excess capital, that builds these huge private ventures that defines #USA

This is where I differ from @michaeljburry on $PLTR. He is right that it is not that specialized a s/w etc. But I am long $PLTR because they are front-running a trend that will become pervasive.

Re: the beating taken by software stocks. Remember it took weeks and months to deploy some enterprise s/w. Forward Deployed Engineers can make UI and Financial s/w backend that satisfies GAAP, and all regression test in less time. Why spend on $ORCL, $NOW, $WDAY, $CRM

I heard from my MLM days - it was a lady talking about being submissive to her husband. She didn't mind it because if god were to take a swing at the family, she could duck and the husband would get hit. I was afraid of taking full ownership in case something fails.

Narrow like Deep Blue to beat Kasparov. But it can learn to beat Tiger Woods in another situation. But may not be a Generalized that carry a conversation like today’s LLMs. So SSI won’t get to AGI, it is specialized Super Intelligence.

Watched https://t.co/WX1VsHnwLk . What I gather SSI is doing is that that they are not pre-training on the WWW data. They are specializing pre-training so that the model is continuously learning in narrow areas. #AI #AGI #SuperIntelligence
