Bill Maher I know is controversial for some. Regardless, here’s how one could be liberal(if he/she chooses) and utterly supportive of the notion of a thriving Israel. https://t.co/TKJSGa61CZ
Please join me as I will appear on Morning Joe with my friend and colleague, Pastor David Jefferson Sr., to discuss the current state of Black Jewish relations; our Newark Freedom Seder; and navigating these days. Tune in at 7:20 AM tomorrow, Friday on MS NOW.

So grateful for the wisdom of my friend and New Jersey's own Rabbi Matt Gewirtz.

Please tune in tomorrow morning, Friday as I appear on Morning Joe to talk about what it means to celebrate Passover during these complicated times. I will be on at 9:30 AM. I am always thankful that you care to watch! To a sweeter Passover and spring season!
Each year at this season we are commanded to sit at the Seder Table to do anything and everything to experience the horror of slavery and then the awe-filled nature of redemption. This year, how can we commemorate the redemptive story of Pesach when 59 souls are still in literal bondage, shackled in the Gaza tunnels of terror?
All of us are shackled in one form or another; and all of us in this season of freedom have the potential to be free. Let us make room at our tables for anyone who needs to join us to be physically and spiritually sustained.
Rachel Goldberg-Polin (mother of the murdered American-Israeli hostage, Hersh Goldberg-Polin) suggests that this year we add a lemon on our Seder plates to remind us the bitter taste of this season and to continue to do everything we can to #BRING THEM HOME!
Chag Pesach Sameach
No father should have to ever utter such poignance and pain:
“Shiri, please watch over me and protect me from bad choices. Guard me from myself…shield me from harm so I won’t sink into darkness.”
May we all find some light on a day as the orange of those sweet boys’ tries to break through the dark clouds.
“Ariel isn’t dead; he’s just in his room, and you just don’t know what the room number is!”
“There are some very smart people in Israel, right, Mom? So maybe they can invent a special potion with ingredients that will bring Ariel and Kfir back to life. It will have a little of the power of Batman’s two knives, fire, speed, and the cape so that he can fly quickly to Gaza. There, the knives will quickly cut the bottle, and it will spill over his body, and then he can come back to us. Simple.”
Five-year-old Yoav doesn’t want to believe his best friend, Ariel Bibas, has passed away.
The worst part?
As fantastical as his explanations sound, they make more sense to me than the reality: that human beings could truly be so cruel.
May Yoav find comfort after this unbelievable loss ❤️🩹
Don’t be fooled by Sasha’s apparent good condition.
Hamas and PIJ was supposed to release him weeks ago, but they held off because he wasn’t in good enough shape.
The terrorists torture the hostages: starving them, keeping them in dark tunnels with no water, no light, and no room to move.
And when it’s time to release them, they feed them, let them shower, give them clean clothes and allow them to shave.
Don’t trust PIJ and Hamas’ propaganda, and don’t think for a second that they’ve shown any kindness. We all saw what they did to Or, Ohad, and Eli.
This week, the terrorist groups were simply more careful for the cameras.
HORRIFYING NEW TESTIMONIES on the captivity of Or Levy, Eli Sharabi, and Ohad Ben Ami.
• One of the ex-hostages freed yesterday, choosing to remain anonymous, revealed he was BOUND IN CHAINS, and only towards his release did he learn how to walk again.
• The hostages were tortured, HUNG BY THE LEGS, gagged to the point of suffocation and burned with hot objects.
• At one point, one of the hostages collapsed from starvation and abuse, and the others believed he was dead. The anonymous hostage says this moment was particularly traumatic.
• Or Levy described: "The tunnel was narrow and low, with no possibility of standing or walking. The terrorists played twisted games - 'You get released and you don't.'
• The men were deliberately starved for long periods of time.
• They were fed a single rotten pita, which they had to share with the other hostages, and they were rarely given water.
Each testimony reveals a new level of Hamas' evil and surpasses even the worst horrors we thought possible.
These men survived a horror movie. But this is no movie — it is REALITY.
We must end this nightmare and bring every last hostage home NOW.
Hamas forced Eli Sharabi to announce that he was excited to be reunited with his wife and daughters this morning, fully aware that they had murdered his family on October 7th.
The Jewish people will never forget or forgive Hamas’ utter depravity and crimes.
