महंगाई के दौर में, जहाँ 30 रुपये में एक कप कॉफी तक नहीं मिलती, वहाँ एक शख़्स 30 रुपये में 4 रोटी, चिकन, सलाद और पैक्ड पानी खिलाकर हज़ारों लोगों की दुआएँ कमा रहा है।

उनका नाम है मोहम्मद इरफान।

जब उनसे मुलाक़ात हुई तो महसूस हुआ कि कुछ लोग कारोबार नहीं करते... इबादत करते हैं। उनके लिए थाली में रखा हर निवाला सिर्फ़ खाना नहीं होता, बल्कि किसी मेहनतकश की इज़्ज़त, किसी मज़दूर की थकान और किसी गरीब की भूख का जवाब होता है।

बातों-बातों में समझ आया कि समाजवाद उनके लिए कोई राजनीतिक नारा नहीं, बल्कि जीने का तरीका है। समाज के सबसे आख़िरी पायदान पर खड़े इंसान की फ़िक्र उनकी बातों में भी दिखी और उनके काम में भी।

यह बातचीत आज से तीन साल पुरानी है। वक़्त बदला, हालात बदले, लेकिन एक चीज़ नहीं बदली - मोहम्मद इरफान का इंसानियत पर यक़ीन।

इरफान तब भी कोहिनूर थे...और आज भी हैं।
