@cybergibbons Something I've noticed is that, if you have added your equipment, Strava will estimate the calories based on the bike used for the ride. Must have some smarts to know that kms are harder fought on larger tyres etc. Might be the issue here?

Can't imagine responsive design before CSS Grid and flexbox. Items in the sidebar told to maintain a two column grid as long as possible, then collapse to single column, then render as horizontal flex row on smaller devices. No fiddly sizing/padding required!
