How about instead of cutting #DisabilityBenefits you actually work on making workplaces more accessible as the norm?
This would benefit the population, whether Disabled &/or Neurodiverse or not.
When you build for accessibility, you build for everybody @10DowningStreet
The show-stopping and stunning 92-year-old Baroness Butler-Sloss raging against the assisted suicide bill in the Lords today. She warns that AS would be expanded far beyond the terminally ill to people with disabilities and mental health conditions, as it has in other places.
Attacking refugees won't build a home, train a nurse or fill a pothole.
It will allow the political-media class to distract and divide us so we can't unite to take on their bosses who really own and run our country.
That's fundamentally why they do it.
Wild that some people still think disabled folks on benefits are out here living luxury when most of them are just trying to survive.
You want to talk about “handouts”? Let’s talk about:
🔹 A benefits process so hostile it literally makes people sicker.
Congrats, you’re outraged at someone finally getting £400 a month after being interrogated about their own body like they’re committing treason.
🔹 Assessments where strangers with clipboards decide your reality in 45 minutes.
Because obviously the best expert on long-term disability is a “health professional” who spent half the appointment staring at a keyboard.
🔹 People dying while waiting for appeals - but sure, call them “scroungers.”
🔹 A cost-of-living crisis where disabled people spend MORE just to exist, because extra heating, equipment, travel, and care - while trolls shout “get a job!”.
If you’re furious about disabled people receiving benefits instead of furious that the government built an entire bureaucratic coliseum to make them fight for crumbs, you’re just announcing you’ve never had a brush with reality.
Disabled people aren’t ‘privileged.’
We’re surviving. Barely.
And if your outrage burns hotter than their electricity bill, maybe the problem isn’t them. Maybe it’s your empathy that’s in arrears.
Yay! Thank you for your campaigning @RMTunion I hope that we will see the price freezes in Wales!

Smartphones 'damage family life' and are a 'constant distraction', the Princess of Wales has warned today.
Last year, Channel 4 set up a unique social experiment which saw school children give up their devices for 3 weeks.
Watch here to find out what happened.
Israeli forces are said to have dropped more explosives on Gaza than fell on London, Dresden and Hamburg combined in the Second World War. The level of destruction is hard to fathom as is the humanitarian suffering.
Our Foreign Affairs Correspondent @SecKermani looks at the damage that’s been done and the challenges of now rebuilding if the ceasefire holds.
You can’t just “push through” a genetic disease. You can’t just “push through” a blood disorder. There’s many disabilities where no matter how hard you push, it won’t do any good and might actually make things worse. Stop telling disabled people to push through their disability.
BREAKING! “Ceasefire”, in Israel’s dictionary: you cease, I fire.
Just hours after the deal - as in January - Israel shoots at Palestinians waiting to return home.
Before any next step, member states must ensure that Israel honours the ceasefire.
This is on display in Caerphilly as part of the by-election.
Worth bearing in mind that the council proposing the closure of the libraries is controlled by Labour...
Lying about this stuff would end your political career in a decent society, but I'm not aware of a single person on either front bench who's above this kind of malicious dishonesty.
People think that when you become disabled, support magically appears
That once it’s official you will have your basic needs met
People fight for years to get the bare minimum in benefits
Caregivers are impossible to find
If you’re not rich or very lucky… you’re on your own
@ElectionMapsUK@YouGov So will the @BBC start giving @LibDems the coverage they should have with 72 MP's and the largest 3rd party in parliament for 100years.
And yet we still have 72 MPs and are the official opposition in parliament https://t.co/Ty5Ds4L6O5 Getting worried for your buddies at Reform & Labour there @BBCNews …? 👀
The ECHR is a British creation that protects all.
It's shocking that other parties such as the Tories and Reform talk about leaving it, rewriting it or watering it down, Liberal Democrats stand firm
