In the "Linguistics 101 Language Acquisition" slideshow it mentions babies babble with the pitch and intonation similar to the "language spoken around them" (p.28). I wonder if this means babies technically babble in different dialects/accents? #fa25e211o2

Myth 8, like the other myths, seems to stem from fear of change. People fear a change from traditional education will limit children's ability to speak or write which is not the case. Traditional is not always best! #fa25e211o2
Myth 8 teaches us that there is no "Golden Age" of language. Language and grammar are constantly changing. Not to mention measurements such as literacy rates have risen in our population compared to those of the past.#fa25e211o2

Trying to find the meaning of a word seems like an endless cycle. A words meaning is described with other words that have meaning, that are described with other words that have meaning, and so forth.
