Trumps victory should send a very clear messege to the Labour government.
"Make a material improvement to the lives of working people or else..."
Far Right populism is on the insurgency.
Trade Unions need to take it seriously. We need to fight racism and make the case for working people.
The mind boggles 🇺🇲
But it's the deep trenched polarisation I lament the most - both there, and, increasingly, everywhere. Whatever the result, it would have been a problem. How to change that though.
Thinking caps on people.
Green politicians would never have approved such an irresponsible plan. It's just not good enough that Labour is divided on the matter. Their incoherence flies in the face of climate breakdown, the biodiversity crisis, and huge opposition from residents.

Packed out hall for the @SaveWimbldnPark public meeting this evening prior to Friday's GLA hearing on the proposed AELTC ecocide into Wimbledon Park sorry I mean expansion. As ever, immaculate, impassioned and irrefutable arguments. Surely a no brainer to reject?
@Kurako76 (Not that we have a 'bus station' so much as a hodge podge of bus stops. What I want to know is who is thinking about how to create enough pedestrianised space to actually cope with all this foot fall. The pavement at rush hour is worse than the tube itself!)
Enjoying #WorldCarFreeDay in Morden today. Shame about the wash out this morning but appreciate that #MertonCouncil took the effort to be present and engage with residents on their hopes for the area 💚
Just doing a quick study on recycling rates in the UK and thought I'd check out how #Merton compares. Rather surprised to see that in the latest Waste and Recycling report, the only mention of recycling is in the title! 🥴 Nice work guys 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️

The tributes are wonderful and devastating in equal measure. He certainly did live his life well. There is much inspiration we can take at this moment.
Mr Knowles’s father said his eldest son ‘loved life and he lived it just as well as he could’

David was my friend from uni. A totally brilliant human: kind, generous, funny, ferociously intelligent. It's hard to process that a light so bright could be so unexpectedly extinguished. My thoughts are with all those who loved him.
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our colleague, David Knowles.
David was a talented journalist and a much-loved friend and a colleague. He will be greatly missed.
Spent the last few weeks disconnected from the media (not always by choice) on a much needed break in rural Wales. What a time to be offline 🤯
A lot to compute. In the meantime, here is one of the two locks we encountered on the #LangollenCanal 😍😌

Happy to have crossed into the brand new Green stronghold of #BristolCentral today and be surrounded by the folks that voted for @carla_denyer - definite aroma of hope and optimism in the air here 😏😎 Thank you Bristol! 💚
"We must put in place real, meaningful consequences such as targeted individual sanctions on Prime Minister Netanyahu and other leaders..."
@EllieChowns responds to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's appearance at the US Congress.
@daybydayv @Sustrans It really is, such a buzz ! Though it would be great to expand involvement to those who couldn't make it or didn't know about the event! 🤔
Thanks to @Sustrans for a fascinating workshop this eve on 'meantime' Greening of Morden town centre. One of my favourite topics!
Was great to hear from the speakers and pool ideas with fellow residents. Surprisingly easy to find consensus. Hint:everyone wants Green Not Grey🌱💚
My first visit to Downing Street as an MP to present the @zerohour_uk petition, asking the govt to make time for the Climate & Nature Bill.
Something I promised my friend & fellow candidate @RachelGreenSW19 I’d support, during the General Election campaign.

Last Thursdays election was deeply unfair... but don't just take our word for it.
Here are top political scientist Sir John Curtice's thoughts.
"We should not be surprised that some are arguing for a rethink."
🚨 21,371,364
That's how many people's votes didn't matter at Thursday's General Election.
We think that that number should be ingrained in the minds of our government when they decide how they're going to restore the lack of trust in politics...
