I found this book at a library book sale selling for only $0.10. The spine had been totally crunched, like something heavy had been dropped on the top of the book and sliced through the pages. After a bit of work, I helped the spine look more intact. I absolutely LOVE this cover!

Sunday Gratitude! I am so grateful for my three amazing little munchkins. When I say they’re the sweetest kids, I mean literally. I love that we can all go on bookish adventures together. What do you like to do with your family?
Do you visit the library? 📚 A few years after I moved into my home, they built a library around the corner! Now, it’s my little escape to get some work done when I have deadlines coming up. I love all the little writing nooks and study rooms. Where do you go to hit deadlines?
How many of you have bought a book just based on its cover? 😍 I totally bought this book at first sight. So, I’m curious, what would you guess this book is all about if you couldn’t read the back cover? No cheating! I can’t wait to hear your guesses.

Book Review: The Starless Sea
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
This is one of my favorite books of all time. It is beautifully written and a fairy tale in its own right. It’s the kind of book you read with a cup of tea and a fuzzy blanket. Read my full review here: https://t.co/F1pHIbMuWu
Whenever I format a book, I order a proof copy in hardback and paperback to double check that everything looks good. It’s so magical to hold that first copy in my hands.
I'm back in the query trenches and my two comp titles are Skyward by Brandon Sanderson and Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman. 🚀 What are some other space opera comps be with strong female protags and interstellar stakes? #amquerying
A Sky of Salt and Stars is out in the query trenches! 📚There's so much possibility with every letter I send out. Someone told me early in my career to expect 100 no's for every yes. So every time I get a "no", I feel closer to my yes. I can't wait to see what this phase brings!
Today on the blog, I share some of my favorite reads of the last three months! I've been writing like a crazy person, but I try to always be deliberate about putting in as much creativity as I'm putting out. I don't want my creative well to run dry. https://t.co/dxEH8zpKyN
I met my husband when I was nineteen, and from the moment he turned around, smiled at me and said “Hi, I’m David,” I’ve been smitten. I always liked the idea of love at first sight, but didn’t expect it to hit me like that. He’s honestly such an amazing partner in life.
The Goose Girl book review 🌻 Shannon Hale’s poetic prose were a classic all of their own. I loved the magic system, the plot, and the beautiful world she created. It's 100% a top pick for my favorites. #favoritebooks#fairytaleretelling
While writing is my career, I have a lot of other creative outlets. One of my favorites is sewing! My kiddos are part of a theater troupe, and recently did a performance of Seussical the Musical. My funny kiddo decided his character name ought to be “Sherlack Whooms."
Sometimes writing can be vulnerable. Opening up your writing to have anyone critique it publicly can be really scary. But sometimes those reviews can make it all worth it. But these ones are fueling me today.

Bookish Easter Egg!🥚In the Mirror Chronicles, I use dates to help keep my readers oriented with the passage of time. Many of those dates have special meaning in my life. I used sentimental moments to help me construct my debut series, and it makes it all the more special to me.
