When the guys helping me with my oil change show me the clean oil, I politely thank them but always wonder if they know that I know nothing…I’m pretty sure it’s just a little game we play.
Anyone else?
I’ve found it helpful to put encyclicals into Google docs so that I can take notes at the top of the document while also leaving comments on sentences so I can easily look back at the context. Feels a bit like I’m the Pope’s editor but that’s the fun part I guess.
@MegHunterKilmer Hi Meg! The Catholic media company I work for is creating a video series on the Ugandan martyrs. I’d love more information these stain glass images & how we might be able to get permissions to use them. Could you please DM me or send me an email? Rcrawford@sistersofmary. Thanks!
@HerbGeraghty That class was co-taught by Tim Johnson, MD. He would talk bluntly about what it means to kill a fetus and how he felt about it, especially when it came to restricting D&X while allowing D&E because it is more brutal and high risk with the multiple passes through the cervix.
@HerbGeraghty Harris was one my women studies profs at Umich. She didn’t tell this story during a lecture, but I distinctly remember her talking about people who drop out of med programs when they move from D&C to D&E and how we need to put our beliefs aside to do abortion care.
This morning, our friend Alasdhair made a Catholic Profession of Faith during the traditional rite of reception of converts. Tonight he receives Confirmation and first Holy Communion. Please pray for him!
@saintsandsmiles IMO some high school conferences plan talks that narrow the topics to “teenage issues” rather than ministering to them as Catholics first and teens second? I don’t know a better way to explain it but I want us to not lose sight of that during formation…
