There are many ways to support the Alaskans evacuated out of western Alaska. Thanks to @adndotcom for sharing timely updates and for the many incredible organizations who are pulling together to provide the support that's needed. Donate what you can here: https://t.co/2fx9w1vHv7
This is one of the toughest reads I think I have ever come across. Well done @washpost & @thewanreport. It is critical that the public (and parents) know the story of Jay Taylor and so many more. I pray that we can put an end to online violence like this. https://t.co/bEhomFF00r
Alaska is again becoming a priority for U.S. military leadership, who see the state not just as a base from which to send out American forces, but also a place that could be the site of actual warfare. (via Northern Journal) https://t.co/04HwUekAIN
Russian Threat to Norway Over Fishing Sanctions ⛴️🐟
Russia has threatened to ban Norwegian vessels from Russian waters and set unilateral fishing quotas "in line with national interests" in the Barents Sea and Norwegian Sea.
This comes after Norway excluded two Russian ships from Norwegian waters. Russia's Federal Fisheries Agency head, Ilya Shestakov, gave Norway a one-month ultimatum to reverse this decision, calling it a "serious violation" of bilateral agreements.
Key Threat, If Norway doesn't comply within one month, Russia will:
Close its exclusive economic zone to Norwegian fishing vessels
Abandon the existing Norway-Russia fishing agreement that regulates catches in open waters
Set its own quotas based solely on "Russian national interests"
Bottom Line: Russia is using fishing access as leverage against Norwegian sanctions, threatening to unilaterally break decades-old cooperation agreements that manage shared maritime resources in Arctic waters. This represents an escalation of economic pressure tactics against Norway in response to sanctions related to the broader geopolitical conflict.

This week marks 36 years since the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill. Click below to read my commentary in The Cordova Times.
"[The spill] shaped my understanding of justice, voice, and responsibility. It drove me to become a lawyer, an advocate, and ultimately, the publisher of this newspaper."

At 17, Joan of Arc declared, "I am not afraid; I was born to do this." At 19, she was executed.
Lately, I’ve been reflecting on her story as I go through my own purpose audit—a process I use to realign with the work I’m meant to do.
Our purpose is always there. The question is: will we lean in or silence it? It takes bravery to listen, to get curious, and to risk it all for what we were made for.

Sustaining life in rural Alaska and rural America is critical to maintaining the heart of our diverse country. Thank you @lisamurkowski for shedding light where it is needed!
In some of our remote communities across Alaska, we're facing an energy emergency, with residents spending up to a half of their income just to keep the lights on and their homes heated. We need to seize the opportunities we have and return Alaska to the heart of our national strategy for resource production.
The recent tanker spill in the Kerch Strait highlights the continued and critical need monitoring, regulations & preparedness. This takes collaboration across many nations. At @aesymposium we prioritize these discussions for a safer, resilient future. 🌍❄️ https://t.co/cD1D1I6QDC
Growing up in Cordova, AK, after the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill taught me resilience. Watching my family & community navigate 2 decades of litigation shaped who I am.
In my Bold Journey interview, I share three lessons that shaped my path: momentum, blind spots & deep listening.

I have been on calls/zoom today with people in London, Geneva, Fairbanks, DC, and Seattle. I am thankful for my work because every day is different and the projects and partnerships in Alaska, our nation's capital, and foreign countries continue to evolve! 🌎
Many thought leaders are pointing to the same shifts and anticipations we're considering as we ramp up production at Arctic Encounter. What topics do you think are crucial for this year's discussions? Join the conversation!
