upcoming #MSCA on #marineshagreeen.
Biomolecules, Arctic ecogeochem, and ecology.
Very excited to share that my #MSCA fellowship application for my project FINS (Finding the Identifiable Species in Shagreen) has been successful! With FINS I will study marine #shagreen objects for insights into the #historicalecology and exploitation of #elasmobranchs!🦈
🚨Registration has been opened and a preliminary programme are now available on our website for those of you keen to join us in person or virtually on the 26th of August for the pre-ISBA PAASTA Conference! https://t.co/p50h7Hk3F4
1/4 New recommendation: Dekker et al. & @ZandraSelina (2025) Open science, communication, and collaboration for the future of palaeoproteomics. V4 peer-reviewed and recommended by @PCI_Archaeology https://t.co/ns0iIQpXp7. #Archaeology@paastacommunity
Happy to share our latest publication, “Pre-Lessepsian isotopic niche spaces: using paleoecological proxies to assess the impact of ongoing bioinvasions on fishes in the eastern Mediterranean Sea” in @MeditMarSci and available OA here: https://t.co/RkvIdbyyxG
By using an isotopic niche space approach, we show that modern, indigenous Mediterranean fishes today consume a wider array of trophic resources, have less trophic plasticity, and experience higher intra-group competition for trophic resources than their ancient counterparts.
Last week I concluded my year in Toulouse (stay tuned for those papers 😉) and this week I've kicked off my @NEHgov fellowship at Winterthur Museum to begin working on #marine#shagreen! Still settling in this week but very excited for the next few months here! 🦈
ERC-Funded Postdoctoral Researcher position in palaeoproteomics!!!! 🔊
We invite applications for a full-time postdoctolar researcher position of 12 months duration (with a possibility to extend) under the ERC Consolidator Grant MILWAYS project

I got back from Egypt this week and of course I can't go anywhere without keeping an eye out for #MarineShagreen so here are a couple of the gorgeous pieces I saw at the Abdeen Palace Museum in Cairo!

Sending this from a train on my way back to Toulouse after a spectacular couple of days in Paris @palaeocdf for #IZAZ 2024! It was so nice to convene with many of the folks working with #ZooMS (and to get to talk about fish and #MarineHistoricalEcology 🐟🦈)!
✨Lucky for all of you that either missed our first #PAASTACommunity conference or wanted to relive it, the first batch of talks from the day are now live on our YouTube with more to come! ✨
