@CeliaBedelia my experience is that when I get bitten in Europe the bites are more dramatic (same goes for if I get bitten in e.g. the Canadian Maritimes, so I think it's mosquitos my body is less used to), but that I get bitten a lot less here.
@PudgyMade Honestly kinda nice that they told you what they were looking for! We were stressed when we were doing a video walkthrough for the shelter because we didn't know if there was anything they were looking for that we hadn't thought of.
@HankHeil yeah we need new scripts around weddings. We were 8 years into our relationship when we got married and were definitely not using that language, but other people kept talking to us as though we were just beginning something.
@theistinthought I did once overestimate how much I could carry and have to call in backup, and often it's a serious workout bc I get too excited about what to buy, but it's doable.
@theistinthought My hiking backpack is a key player currently, but one of those rolling carts was definitely the level up before I moved.
also when I lived in a place where grocery delivery was an option, I did do an occasional heavy load that way.
@potatoslav Would be more complicated with a larger household, obviously.
I do miss the grocery delivery option for if I want, like, a bunch of cans and a bunch of flour or w/e.
@potatoslav We usually shop weekly and carry the stuff ourselves in hiking backpacks and tote bags. It's a bit dicey if only one of us go so usually we both do, but we can also make it work with good prioritization if only one shopper is available.
@queenathenah there were allergy considerations for us so I wasn't sure it was gonna work out, but actually multiple potentially suitable dogs came up pretty quickly!
@queenathenah We learned that the shelters near us had lots of dogs that weren't getting listed on their websites - so we were seeing a lot of big dogs with biting problems on the websites, but it was possible to get on a list where we might get contacted if a dog that met our criteria came in
@JillFilipovic I will say that the intensity of diet culture in offices is probably not good for very many people regardless of eating disorder history, especially given how many diets promote weight cycling. I wouldn't quit over it, but I'd love to see a culture shift.
@svershbow Wild how different different dogs are, eh? My slightly scared new pal is all in for cuddles but really has not figured out toys or playing yet (except occasionally when she's all riled up because she needs to pee...)
