20 years ago today the doors opened for North America's first supervised consumption site! (Insite) When I first signed up I believed I was just there to use drugs safely. What I didn't know was it would save my life multiple times, connect me with health services for life threatening bone infections, access to detox services and recovery treatment which propelled me to have over a decade of sobriety. Yes this green building doesn't look like much from the outside but it's the people inside who change lives by treating people with kindness & respect. To everyone who works or supports OPS/SCS thank you for fighting for this vital health service. Happy 20 years, thank you for saving my life!
