Founder of @picdiversity. We give teachers free, diverse class visuals/videos. Passion: #equity, #education, #media, and listening to teachers/students.
Take a minute and think through the power of literally showing students they belong in their classes, and giving them concrete visuals of the greatness we never questioned was within them. That could change a generation.
When you think about the need for #diversity in media, do you think about classroom content? Our #teachers need tools to show students the class is for them. Read more in @ChildhoodEdIntl by our Founder

A comment on one of @PicDiversity ‘s ads of our diverse illustrations for PK-1st graders. What’s scary is that the ad targets teachers so the commenter is likely a teacher. Diversity in visuals is necessary for our kids to fully excel in academics. Period. We have work to do.
Went to @Walgreens for a #covid19 test. Picked a location that wasn't labeled drive thru b/c I have no car. It's a drive thru. They won't give me a test b/c I'm on foot. THEY TOLD ME TO CALL AN @Uber. Soo many things wrong here.
@HalleQuezada @Google@PicDiversity Happy too! I can also do a Zoom call if you like and show them the screenshots I took of google searches back in 2015. Whatever works best!
@HalleQuezada @Google The lack of diversity in google results back in 2014 is part of why I started @PicDiversity . Try googling “child engineer.” What’s available is so homogenous still today.
We're working on a PK ABC game for parents/teachers. Showed this panel to a 4-year-old and asked her to find all the "S" words. She got the obvious ones and then said matter-of-factly, "Sisters." When we think about #diversityandinclusion, our kids are not the problem.
In #NYS it costs nearly $900,000/yr for a child to be held in juvenile placement. Our communities can use that money better. It is time to close 4 OCFS facilities and reinvest in youth. #CloseYouthPrisonsNY @CarlHeastie @AndreaSCousins Read more: https://t.co/S0mzIfkdLw
