Legacy of Kindness
Loving God, please help me to love others in practical ways each day so I can leave a legacy of kindness that points others straight to You.
Paul simply says of Israel’s ancient King David that he “served God’s purpose in his own generation” and then he died (ACTS 13:36). Like him, let’s love God and serve Him, leaving behind us His love and kindness for others to remember.
“The evangelist who preaches for eternity is never great on numbers. He is not apt to count hundreds of converts where there is no restitution, no confession, and no glad cry which proclaims, ‘The lost is found, the dead is made alive again!’” —E. M. Bounds
Applause, fame, popularity, honor, wealth — all these are vain. If souls are not won, if saints are not matured, our ministry itself is vain.
Horatius Bonar
When we go through pain or suffering because of our life with Jesus, we do so because “Christ suffered for [us], leaving [us] an example, that [we] should follow in his steps”
Our decision to follow Jesus may cause us problems. Peter wrote: “It is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God” (1 PET. 2:19).
Error will never be defeated by denominations, committees, or even reformation.
Only by the sword of the Spirit (Scripture) can we “demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God” (2 Cor. 10:5).
“My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be glory forever and ever.” Philippians 4:19–20
His glory is his inexhaustible giving.
It is all “in Christ.”
If you have Christ, you have the giving and the glory.
