When people tell me that they want to get back into reading but can’t seem to find THAT BOOK, I have some go-to recs based on what made them love reading in the first place
— here are 56 of them 🧵
Mitch Hedberg day-2/22/22. You are a legend, sir! "The next time I move I hope I get an easy phone number...like 222-2222. People ask "Mitch, how do I get ahold of you?" I'd say, "Just press 2 for a while!"
@mitchhedberg
"Ideas are like rabbits. You get a couple and learn how to handle them, and pretty soon you have a dozen."
― John Steinbeck I still love this quote so much #WritingCommunity#writingtruths#amwriting
@TheIntellektOwl Kind of - as soon as I try and come up with comps I start second-guessing if my story is too close to other things I've read/seen/listened to. But I always decide that blended media = new media.
@Nickyshearsby22 1st person! I've never been able to get in the groove of 3rd person because I feel too detached from everything. I need more focus 😆 Love reading good 3rd person, though so I'm glad so many of you are good at it!
@writingwithreed@Nickyshearsby22 I always tend to go shorter - I like reading shorter chapters and feel like that's one of the best ways to suck a reader in. #teamshort
The gray hair I found today clearly indicates I'm turning into Rogue 🦸♀️ What do I want to be when I grow up? A superhero! BAM! #XMen#kindofabigdeal#lifegoals 6-yr-old me would be so excited.
Happy new book day! We have a strict spreadsheet going on who in our house gets the book and for how long. In retrospect we should have bought 4 copies 🤣 #mg#BookLover@MelissadelaCruz
In no particular order, here are the next few books on my #readinglist have you read them? Thoughts? Suggestions for my next stack? Looking forward to the variety!😁📚
@AuthorHopkins Not multiple book pitches in one query... one thing often expected of chapter books is series potential. So if I already have several more books of the series mapped out, how do I let the agent kindly know that I'm thinking ahead and I'm in it for the long haul?
