@adamboxer1 Much more useful to have a classroom book corner, well stocked with books that are well known by the teacher and the capacity to occasionally buy a few books if children are loving a particular author or genre.

@TTRadioOfficial I did supply for a while- the work got planned and marked, the children were safe, happy and taught. Amazingly, all the other really important stuff that class teachers are expected to do turned out to be not so important when it would have meant paying for more of my time!

[RACHEL Powell @RachelVPowell]

@daisychristo @Counsell_C Years ago, there was a craze among primary teachers to plan work around Pokemon- matching the children's interest. I very nearly joined in- but then realised that my job was to make them interested in the things on the curriculum- to widen what they were excited by.

@MartinSLewis Wages go into separate accounts, then we pay into a joint account that pays all joint bills, food, holidays etc. My husband earns more so pays more in. It's worked for us for 30 years. What's not in the joint pot is ours to spend without question.

My @Strickomaster account has been hacked & cannot be salvaged. I’m having to essentially start again. Retweets appreciated @teacherhead @RogersHistory @tombennett71 @BarryNSmith79 @m_chiles @MrChrisPassey @Counsell_C @MaryMyatt @DrSarahMullin

💥Today, 29th December, is 50th anniversary of the sex discrimination and equal pay acts coming into force, along with equal opportunities commission to help enforce.
Before then, employers & others *legally* blocked women from all kinds of roles, responsibilities, promotions 1/

@MrMichaelSpicer Mine has a name, same as the road 'W______ House.' It's easy enough to find. Problem is, saying I live there makes me feel as though I live in some kind of institution! It truly doesn't have a number though, as we found out painfully when trying to change gas supplier!

[RACHEL Powell @RachelVPowell]

@greg_ashman Notice how tiny the groups are - except for drill. A bit of problem based learning might be great with 4 kids to a skilled adult!

[RACHEL Powell @RachelVPowell]

@Emma_Turner75 That's a week! Hope you're okay.

anyone out there doing animation with kids at the moment? I could do with an update on the current tech/ techniques being used. I haven't done it for a while.

Nigel needs a favour.

[RACHEL Powell @RachelVPowell]

@AmichaiChikli @TRobinsonNewEra Don't be ridiculous.

[RACHEL Powell @RachelVPowell]

@TPScheme I try to check mine regularly but am unable to view it on the site. I requested a paper copy in March. No response received. It's boggling how you are getting away with this shocking level of service.

[RACHEL Powell @RachelVPowell]

@ICT_MrP We say them because most of the time, they're not going to be sick. I've used these strategies every day for 32 years and I could count the times there was actual vomit on one hand.

@HeroicMrT Also try the website for the @CharteredColl

[RACHEL Powell @RachelVPowell]

@HeroicMrT Look up @PepsMccrea on here. He sends 'snacks' of research out by email every week.

@CP_Ogamba I don't use Ms to indicate that I'm divorced or separated. I use Ms to indicate that my marital status is not the business of people who don't really know me. If men's names don't declare it, why should mine?

[RACHEL Powell @RachelVPowell]

@Emma_Turner75 I couldn't agree more. It's amazing to be able to quickly share some resources but this mustn't be at the expense of actual experiences. As an experienced teacher who knows the curriculum and children well, it's also increased work to put every last thing on a slide!
