New Paper in MEPS!
Photosynthesis & respiration in sheath-covered eelgrass seeds increase with temperature, but with stronger response in respiration, which can have negative impact on synthesis rates of storage products and thereby germination success.

My first ISBW and WSC and what an incredible venue! This is also the largest seagrass conference ever with almost 500 scientists from 48 countries gathering in Napoli - such an honour and privilege to be part of this ๐ฑ

Back in Australia, training and working with @CoralEMU@Rachel_Austin_ (Gary Kendrickโs lab) at UWA, Perth. Microsensors are now positioned inside the #seagrass leaf, measuring sulfide and oxygen over time. Going to be very interesting to see the final results. @seas_green
An absolutely incredible week of marine science at #AMSA2023 on the Gold Coast.
It was a proud moment to be able to share the #SeedsforSnapper success story with the AMSA community, and to receive such positive feedback ๐ฑ
Back in 2020 we started a huge mesocosm experiment just as covid kicked off. It was one crazy rollercoaster but it's so great to see the (super interesting) results coming out - have a read! โฌ ๐ฑ

New PhD paper out in @NewPhyt!๐
We unraveled different response mechanisms in leaf #metabolism of temperate & tropical #seagrasses๐ฑwhen exposed to extreme climatic events under #oceanwarming with indication of early warning potential.โฐ
