@NSTAuthority has authorised the release of all the well data for onshore hydrocarbon boreholes held by BGS. These boreholes deeply penetrate the crust under the UK mainland and are geographically widespread across the UK.

Samples of drill core from the first 3 boreholes drilled during development of the Cheshire #UKGeoEnergy Observatory are now available. Core is from the Chester Formation of the Sherwood Sandstone Group (Lower Triassic).
