Your baby doesn’t need screens. 📺
Your baby doesn’t need expensive “educational” toys.
Your baby needs you. Your time. Your love. Your undivided attention.
Watch this little one’s eyes as he interacts with his dad. They never once leave the most beautiful sight he knows: his parent’s smiling face.
This is how the brain is wired. This is how attachment is formed. This is how children learn to speak.
No phones. No distractions. Just your baby and you. ❤️

Years ago, my grandfather visited from India for a summer and traveled around the country. “Dadu, what were the most marvelous things you saw in the USA?” I asked. He didn’t hesitate: “Free libraries. Public parks. In almost every town!” I’ve never taken those gifts for granted.
https://t.co/LaZzHa7kzJ @henrymcmaster@collins_neal Could you respond to this student? Is it illegal to discuss systemic racism in South Carolina classrooms? Can our students engage with the truth or only a glorified falsified history of America?
On June 12, 1963, Medgar Evers — a towering patriot — was killed because he demanded that the country he fought for overseas fulfill its promise that every one of us ought to be treated equally.
He may no longer be with us, but his legacy of seeking justice lives on in us all.
#OnThisDay in 1921, one of the deadliest racial massacres in U.S. history began in the thriving Greenwood African American community of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Black Wall Street in Tulsa, OK was destroyed by a racist mob. #APeoplesJourney#ANationsStory
“We had our own garden out back, our own camellias.” Kessiah in The Water Dancer by Ta-Nehisi Coates. This is how she sums up a good safe time in here life even though they were enslaved. Reminds me of a Biblical image of flourishing. When each sits under their own vine
And their own fig tree. But there was no lasting flourishing for the enslaved. There was always the threat of family separation to make them afraid. Thankful for this amazing novel that helps us remember the abomination that was American slavery especially when the powers
@KevinMKruse I thought the scene when Sam saw the damage to his restaurant was one of the most powerful glimpses of the pain caused by xenophobia and bigotry.
This is not how a great country treats vulnerable people seeking protection
It's certainly not how a country where most people profess to follow Jesus—who with His family made a difficult journey to a foreign land to find refuge—should treat those following a similar path
My goodness we need to pass gun safety leg. We also need to contend with the fact that the availability of guns doesn't entirely explain the sickness of a society that has and produces so many people ready to use guns to end the lives of former colleagues, strangers, children...
On Easter Sunday, 1939, Marian Anderson concluded her historic concert at the Lincoln Memorial with a composition by Florence Price. These women navigated & faced many of the worst elements of US culture & used their artistry, power, & grace to cultivate & bring out the best.
It's important to note that there are many, many ways to be a "Southerner."
What irritates me is that, even in the year 2023, some of the most prominent "Southern" voices on social media cloak themselves in the colors and iconography of the Confederacy.
@davidswanson I come from a denomination that is proud of its sabbath keeping heritage. I think God is more angry about these students having no rest on any day of the week than about people eating in restaurants on Sundays.
God's command to keep the sabbath has a clear emphasis on protecting the rest of the least of these. I think the spirit of this command should prompt us to care about the exploitation of migrant youth. https://t.co/YpJGO0sR2F
