Integration is and always was a lie. It has never happened in history. What does happen, in the best case scenario, is that the new arrivals adopt the local language and follow the local laws. This makes living together possible, but it is NOT integration. Even to this day, Italian families and German families are quite distinct and different. In their home, on their dinner table, and even their views on life. These groups have always been distinct and never became the 'same' thing. Integration is a false idea that has never existed. Every example anyone will ever point to, is simply just the ones that adopt the language and follow the laws. It is a false argument. Coexisting and cooperation does NOT equal integration.
