Probably a mild take but on ladder if the battle timer runs out the winner should be the player with more Pokémon / HP left

What makes it funnier is that you could try taunting / encoring it and it will have mental herb or try putting it to sleep then it will have Lum Berry.

The only direct counterplay I can think of is hoping you KO it first or have a trick room setter of your own to turn it off.

Punishing your player base for not mindlessly consuming every game they pump out regardless of quality is not a good look.

@Jayjxnx5 VGC / Mainline players had little to no reason to play Z-A. Requiring either coughing up $70 or having someone who is willing to trade their once per save Pokémon this makes it in fact, a paywall.

Also, The Pokémon company doesn't host official events for showdown, a fan site.

It just occurred to me that there is a non-zero chance that Mega Zygarde could be added to Champions with its mega stone being locked behind transferring it from Z-A

A Pokémon with a 200 power and 100% accuracy STAB move that ignores protect and bypasses fairy immunity... 👀💦

The Kalos megastones are also locked behind Legends Z-A because the Pokémon company wants more money, lol.

At least the Z-A Kalos starters are easier to trade for since I assume they're repeatable.
