๐ ONE MILLION POUNDS RAISED! ๐
There just aren't enough thank yous in the world for all the amazing people involved and our wonderful audiences both at home and here at the Palace Theatre. ๐
So, @philmatejtschuk signing off, handing over to the brilliant @Jet_Sharp!
@RADA_London is a fantastic place to work & study (trust me, I've done both).
Thank you to the endlessly inspiring students & staff!
SQ99 - 'Phil Exit'. GO.
SQ100 [auto follow] - 'Jet Revolution'...
It's SO important that anyone who might see us & wonder if theatre in general is a potential career for you, the answer is a big, thunderous, resounding YES.
Whoever you are, we need your voice, skills & experiences to further enrich the arts.
P.S. Sound is especially awesome.
So that concludes our list of lovely guests we've managed to include in our lockdown learning in 2021 - obviously it's been a tough time for everyone, and we're so grateful to all of the above for taking the time to speak to our students & help mould the future of the industry!
Last but by no means least, we were so grateful to have @RobBettle take time out to talk to us about his work as a production sound engineer, moving into associate design roles, and the importance of his familiarity with the UK's wide range of venues.
Our penultimate lockdown session was with the brilliant @taurusgooner and his talk subtitled #WarehouseToWestEnd all about his journey up to being one of the UK's top sound designers, and the importance of organisations like @StageSight on the industry's future.
We delved into the world of game audio and composition with the help of fantastic guest @GinaLoughlin, who showed us some of her process in making incredible audio for games, as well as advice on navigating the industry (& 2 of our students got stuck into a game jam days after!)
No, it's not an April Fool! We actually were lucky enough to get another Olivier-Award winner in to speak to our students - this time the wonderful Carolyn Downing (@cazdowning305), who gave some invaluable insight into her journey through the industry, and how it's evolving!
Having previously very kindly helped our students out with our musical theatre productions in previous years, it was an absolute pleasure to have brilliant sound designer @AvgoustosP give our students some fantastic sessions on everything from gain structure to desk setup!
huge thanks to Peter Rice (@soundcollective) as lead of the @ASDesigners Educators group for his impetus in getting our students, along with many other drama schools, involved with talks from @TiMaxOutBoard + @dbaudiotechnik - so great to collaborate & learn together!
Halfway through our weeklong celebration of the guests who made our lockdown learning so exciting - and next a big shout out to @jackbdrury & brilliant sponsors @ShureUK for excellent sessions on Wireless Workbench and microphones - getting us ready to dive back into productions!
