🔸 CHINA POSTS RECORD 2025 TRADE SURPLUS DESPITE SHARP COAL IMPORT DROP
China’s trade performance in 2025 exceeded forecasts, ending the year with a record surplus. While coal imports saw their sharpest annual drop, steel exports rose by 7.5% to 119 million tons. Rare earth exports climbed nearly 13%, and despite an 8% decline in aluminum exports, China remains a dominant force in global metal supplies. Imports of unwrought copper dropped by 6.4%, while copper ore and concentrate imports increased by nearly 8%, indicating a shift in demand structure. Despite some declines in trade flows, China solidifies its position as an industrial export powerhouse.
