Before the war, Daria "Blyskavka" Filipieva was a successful translator. But she felt her life had to mean more.

She underwent eye surgery so she could qualify for military service, became a combat medic, and went on to save hundreds of Ukrainian soldiers.

She once said:
"Every wounded person who passed through my hands survived."

On August 3, 2023, a russian anti-tank guided missile struck her evacuation vehicle on the Zaporizhzhia front.

The rest of the crew survived.

Daria did not.
