Not everyone who disagrees with you:
-is a bigot.
-hates you.
-has a phobia.
-is toxic.
-is oppressive.
-is intolerant.
-is dangerous.
Often, people are just willing to disagree with you and share truth, because they actually love you enough to do so.
Christians, we are called to stand out from the culture by:
• Speaking the truth in love
• Living lives of sexual purity
• Forgiving those who wrong us
• Actually loving our enemies and praying for them
Just finished another great book by one of my favorite authors Mark Batterson. Gradually then Suddenly challenges us to make the little choices and decisions that will make huge changes later in life.
God doesn't exist to make our earthly dreams come true. We were created for his glory and his eternal purposes. And trust me, his ways are better than ours.
God doesn't exist to make all our earthly dreams come true. He saved us to make us holy and to use our lives for his global glory. Our main purpose is to know him and make him known.
Things that lead to destruction according to Scripture:
• A proud heart that refuses to repent
• Trusting in your own wisdom
• Loving money more than God
• Ignoring the warnings of the Bible
“There are only two kinds of people: those who say to God, ‘Thy will be done,’ and those to whom God says, ‘All right, then, have it your way.’” - C.S. Lewis
Characteristics of a false teacher:
• They avoid preaching about sin and Hell
• They love money and worldly praise
• They twist scriptures to fit the culture
Avoid them and stick to the plain truth of God's Word.
