Working on an indie game since 2019 oops
2036, I'm still stubbornly using Photoshop CS6 on my weird ARM machine running some ARM Linux distro cause windows 12 requires a urine sample at login. It runs through an ARM to x86 comparability layer then also through a Linux to Windows comparability layer. Still better than CC
That new era of PC thing if it's just ARM based desktops I'm gonna be like ok sure but if it's remote computing cause of rising hardware costs I will end friendships over anyone who pays to actually use that instead of killing their idea by having nobody use it.
NVIDIA has officially retired the GeForce Control Panel after 20 years, ending one of the longest-running software tools in PC gaming.
The company is moving users to the newer NVIDIA App, which combines driver updates, game optimization, DLSS and RTX settings, performance tools, overlays, and display settings into one application.
The old Control Panel will still work for now but is now considered a legacy app and will no longer receive major updates for GeForce users.
For many gamers it has been a familiar part of the Windows experience since the early 2000s.
Trying to read articles on websites is impossible now. Ads between every paragraph, headlines for other articles between them and just starting another one if you scroll past the end of one. And because of the roundabout wording to milk retention it's impossible to follow.
They learned this lesson with their very first 3D adventure/open game and the game industry has spent the last 30 years slowly unlearning this and making empty worlds that are too big everywhere now. *cough* Metroid Prime 4
I'm playing around and exploring some of the recovered beta maps in Ocarina of Time and one thing that I've noticed is how much larger these areas once were!
Maybe being their first time developing 3D Zelda environments they didn't quite have their sense of scale set just yet?
My tech illiterate mom has been on Linux for over 6 years now because if you are just using a web browser + the desktop for viewing pictures and videos it's genuinely simpler to use than Windows and has less ways you can mess it up by accidentally clicking on something.
People haven't realized that Linux is a perfectly viable "out of the box" Windows alternative for everyday use because the Linux community is full of people that modify the fuck out of it for hyper-specific uses. Most of the frustration with Linux also comes from those people.
Old one piece will always have a special place in my heart
When Konosuke Uda was the series director with his magical direction, when Noboru Koizumi was character designer and chief animation director, when Hideaki Maniwa was animation director. The director rotation was also superb
It had very limited animation, but it still hits like no other anime
One thing I've learned recently is if something has damaged u mentally.
Once everything gets better u don't feel better. Cause the brain has learned that being miserable is the norm. I'll try to get my brain to catch up and realize everything is ok now. Sorry for being a grump.
taking down the official content and leaving the rest of the site up would have been so much easier like fuck everyone on both sides involved with this lol.
Meanwhile I don't even consider a game as started until updates are over.
I'm happy my favourite games don't get updates anymore cause they won't change. Now any change is in the minds of the players.
The reason why this mindset exists is because for a lot of younger gamers it really is the norm; most games they've played (especially multiplayer ones) get continuous updates for years to come.
Just look at Minecraft for example.
@azuremizutsune@deadinside_p28 I installed a custom Windows 10 iso called Reunion 7! It does a lot more than a skin would actually. For example it has all the old programs and even the old task manager. It's based on Win10 LTSC so it's good till 2032 as well.
I love music soooo much. It's my #1 passion in life. But people who got their playlists on from when they wake up to the moment they go to bed feel nightmarish to me lol
