I'm trying to follow OPTC / TreCru / One Piece Treasure Cruise accounts, both English and Japanese, follow me if you see this and I'll follow back #トレクル12周年#トレクル#OPTC#OPTC12th
Well, that's a first.
An enterpreneur who I met at a cafe a while back and was a nice guy and said we'd follow up perhaps just sent me an AI-genereated pitch.
This wiped out the personal connection I had in my mind with this person.
How do people not realize AI does this?
@GergelyOrosz I respect the way you've been able to build your brand and own business over the last couple of years. It's inspirational. And shocking that it's viable.
@GergelyOrosz Makes sense; I suspect that it's a very different market now.
My situation's weird, I've had limited choices (including rejecting MS, Amazon and a chance to interview at Google) because of my wife's career; on paper her work is more lucrative than even that, but less liquid.
@GergelyOrosz Oh and the situation now is that the freelance market here is fubar, the US start-up was working for failed to raise so stiffed me (my comp was in that range) and the few freelance positions available require onsite (which I can't do due to family limitations).
@GergelyOrosz I was freelancing then and indeed was not aware that that compensation existed. Although travelling to Amsterdam to work also wasn't an option.
Why did you quit though? A decade of living off of the base pay and saving the options and the world's your oyster.
@OpsExtinction@javarevisited I've just realised that the OP is probably a vibe coder who just deleted 5 million rows from his production database and now has an angry boss on the line.
@OpsExtinction@javarevisited That's what you do once the backup is restored (presumably from tape / off-site given the 4 hour duration).
The correct answer is to call the VPE / CTO / HoE, explain it, then let them handle it whilst you get on with fixing things.
Then afterwards do a post-mortem.
@davidsenra@pmarca That's a great argument for universal healthcare and UBI.
It's the Star Trek / The Culture vision - in a society where everyone has the necessities then everyone can chase their dreams.
Especially when there's social capital sitting there as a reward.
@tradervito@Rainmaker1973 Interesting, I just saw that if you fold the line around 50 then all the numbers (except 100) add up to 100. So you have 50 x 100. With the pivot, 50, left over. You can do with same with any contiguous list of integers.
@mjackson Depends. Angular 1.x had worts. Angular 2 is very nice if you're building something which could be a WPF app. Especially in a team. It's Adobe Flex but modern/good.
React feels like jQuery to me.
