@ThabitiAnyabwil I think this is a key observation! I have been discouraged by some answers I’ve received from some pastors concerning their personal devotional exercises. Are there any additional suggestions or practices you would recommend?
Christian young ladies should NEVER consider marrying a young man that:
- is not saved.
- does not faithfully attend a good church.
- does not walk with God.
- has a history of not following through with things he starts (like college).
- does not have gainful employment.
- is nearing 30 and has never done anything meaningful with his life.
- has no mentors.
- couldn’t handle a 50+ hour work week.
- has a mountain of debt.
- one/both of your godly parents disapprove of.
You are setting yourself up for a miserable life.
In the great commission, Jesus did not say “teaching them all I have commanded you.”
He said, “teaching them to observe (guard, keep, obey) all I have committed you.”
Disciple making happens not only by teaching but by training and mentoring.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Once again this applies to the youngest and most helpless Americans.
