Our producer @JulianHayda had a story on @MorningEdition today about how, in the eyes of Chicago’s Ukrainians, the Trump impeachment inquiry has a lot to do with the war in Eastern Ukraine’s #Donbas region.
@RadioWorldview Very sorry to see Worldview go. Kudos to Jerome McDonnell for so much fabulous work over the years. It was rare - and important on many levels - to have a public radio station devote an hour each weekday to locally-produced international affairs programming.
As @RadioWorldview aired its final show today, I couldn't stop thinking how lucky I was to work with @JeromeMcDonnell and the whole Worldview team for a while. They've been doing good in Chicago and in the world for the past 25(!) years.
Thank you, Jerome and @RadioWorldview, for 25 years of service, for highlighting voices that aren't otherwise heard from in the US, and for giving me the space to grow as a journalist and as a person. Working on this show proved to me every day that "another world is possible."
"The world faces serious problems, but the thing that gives me hope is you," Jerome tells Worldview's listeners. "It's going to take some doing, but together we'll get to that better world our hearts know is possible." https://t.co/enDAfFNVtz
As Worldview ends its last noontime broadcast on @WBEZ, producers @JulianHayda and @Steven_Bynum, alongside longtime culture contributor Nari Safavi, reflect on their time making the show happen every day. https://t.co/nk7XnQvoRp
Our very own @JeromeMcDonnell is closing his @RadioWorldview just the way he would: Thanking the community, highlighting the many, many people the show invited on the show because those people and groups were answering the global question: "How can I help?"
@RadioWorldview@WBEZ .@JulianHayda right now is "completely out of words," and so am I. So am I. "To serve others is everything," he says, and that's exactly what @RadioWorldview and @JeromeMcDonnell have done with every broadcast since 2001.
One of the highlights of my career WBEZ was getting to travel with the @RadioWorldview team through Michigan highlighting the stories of people doing good in the world. I'm going to miss these guys. Last show is happening right now
NOW: Worldview producers @JulianHayda and @Steven_Bynum are discussing their time on Worldview with Jerome, alongside longtime cultural correspondent Nari Safavi.
