10pm update: the fire is still ongoing, with flames still visible, though the smoke appears to be less intense than earlier.
Wishing the firefighters all the strength and luck as they continue working to bring this under control. They’ve been on this since it was reported around 5:30pm, hopefully they can get through it safely and finally get some rest soon.

Update: I can still see flames coming from the building. From where I am, the structure appears to be badly damaged compared with how it looked earlier.
Really hoping the firefighting teams are able to fully contain it soon before it spreads further. Stay safe if you’re nearby.

For a few minutes, the smoke seemed to calm down and there were no visible flames, but it looks like the fire has started again.

The recycling centre fire still looks very serious. A firefighter can be seen going up on the aerial platform towards the flames with a hose, but the fire still appears large and not visibly slowing down from here. Hope everyone nearby is safe.

Update on the recycling centre fire in London: I posted another video a few minutes ago, and the fire still appears to be ongoing.
Emergency services have been notified. Please avoid the area if you’re nearby and stay safe.

@wolfybear3@VoidSimonF@GarbageHuman24 it’s genuinely confusing to see manipulated images used as “evidence” when accurate, accessible information is everywhere. With the amount of resources available today, there’s no real need to rely on distortions to push a narrative
@wolfybear3@VoidSimonF@GarbageHuman24 Why use an edited image to support a claim when the real thing is widely documented? This is the Great Sphinx of Giza as it actually appears—l, here’s a photo I took myself. It looks nothing like the altered version being shared
@wolfybear3@VoidSimonF@GarbageHuman24 Ancient Egypt is one of the most thoroughly documented civilizations we have, through art, sculptures, mummies, and written records. These consistently show features aligned with North African/Mediterranean populations, not sub-Saharan depictions
