So let me get this straight: a U.S. senator — whose actual job is to represent his own state — has now promoted himself to spokesperson for all 50 states, regional war manager, and part-time director of other countries’ armed forces. Last I checked, the Senate is made up of senators from each state, and even the Senate’s own contact guidance says people should direct policy concerns to the senators from their state, not to one guy doing open-mic imperialism online.

And that’s the part that always amazes me: these people talk about war like they’re ordering extra sauce. ‘Why aren’t you using your military now?’ Sir, because those are actual human beings, not chess pieces for defense-contractor PowerPoints. Why should our people die for somebody else’s military-industrial wishlist? Why is it always so easy to volunteer other nations’ sons for bloodshed when you’re typing comfortably from thousands of miles away?

It’s the same old routine: some politician starts sounding less like a senator and more like a trailer voice-over for ‘Middle East War 7: This Time It’s Strategic.’ Apparently sovereignty is only respected when it’s theirs. Everyone else is expected to jump on command, provide troops on demand, and send young men to die so the usual crowd can call it ‘leadership’ on cable news.

Honestly, if he cares that much, maybe he should focus on representing his state first before auditioning as Supreme Commander of Everybody Else’s Backyard.
