Parkside students waved goodbye to staff and friends on an afternoon action packed with fun. Students helped to cook and prepare a barbeque which was followed by laughter and games on the field. We wish our students every success as they move onto new opportunities.
We presented our Raedwald Trust Readers for Life curriculum at the HOPE Congress in Dublin. The specifically designed model supports staff to deliver an oracy-based reading curriculum which develops vocabulary, fluency, prosody and comprehension. It was an inspiring day!
Students at Westbridge Academy enjoyed celebrating British Science Week. They created crystal flowers, made matchstick rockets and took part in a mystery activity. They took part in “I’m a scientist get me out of here” online where they had a live chat with different scientists!
Year 10 and 11 Springboard pupils made Granola and smoothy bowls in Food Tech. There was some cross curriculum learning as they used their maths skills to measure and weigh the ingredients. They also learnt about healthy eating and reduced the sugar by using natural sugars.

The Koala class have been writing instructions for how to make a gingerbread man. The children delivered their instructions to the Baker and chose a treat to have at the end of the day! #gingerbreadman
Children in Kangaroo class have been busy applying their knowledge of place value to answer questions. They were able to beat the teachers at finding the answers! Great work!
Parkside students went on a trip to visit a live performance music venue. They learnt industry skills in regards to how to set a microphone stand and how to use a live mixing deck. They also listened to a live performance from a young upcoming artist within Suffolk. A great trip!

Our Springboard Year 10 and Year 11 students have been getting into the festive spirit by making and decorating their very own Christmas Cakes. The students took on this project during their food tech lessons over the course of 2 weeks. Great job! #christmascakes

Our students attended a trip to St Margaret’s church. They have been learning about the various topic areas within Christianity, The Creation story and religious morals. They explored the church, met the priest and asked questions. It was a great trip! #religion
As part of their superhero topic, First Base Ipswich pupils have been meeting everyday superheroes. This time, it was firefighters! We had a look around their fire engine and tested the hose! We brainstormed questions to ask them and wrote them down as part of our English work.
First Base Bury had some exciting visitors when the police came to school! The children had the opportunity to dress up in real uniform, they had their fingerprints taken and sat in the driver’s seat of the police vehicle! #police
On Tuesday we went to Colchester Zoo to see the Orangutans. Our topic has been based on the book There’s a Rang-Tan in my bedroom. The children produced a fact file about them. We gave them to the zoo keepers who were so amazed they wrote us a letter back to thank us! #zoo
